Welcome to Girls Inc. of NW Oregon!

At Girls Inc. of NW Oregon, we inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through school-based empowerment programs, assertiveness education, and community advocacy for girl-affirming policies and practices.

We engage hundreds of female volunteers as facilitators, mentors, and community advocates who model solidarity and demonstrate the value of women and girls holding one another up to reach our limitless potential.

Engineering and Computer Animation Camp!

For girls ages 8-11, Girls Inc. will be partnering with Portland Wiz kids to provide an Engineering and Computer Animation camp for girls! Each morning focuses on a theme relevant to girls’ lives to demonstrate how big of an impact engineering and technology plays on their everyday lives. After lunch, work with computer animation software and learn how to create characters that dance, sing, and interact with one another, create images that whirl, spin, and animate in response to movements of the mouse, and integrate images with sound effects and music clips to create an interactive birthday card for a friend, or an interactive report for school. Gain skills that will be critical to success in the future: thinking creatively, communicating clearly, analyzing systematically, collaborating effectively, designing iteratively, and learning continuously. This is a very exciting opportunity!

Where: Lewis and Clark College
When: July 28- August 1, 9:30-4:30
Cost: $20
Age: 8-11
